Thurlestone Arch is a natural rock formation off the South Devon coast. On a high tide it makes for a great swim out to, and then through the arch. At low tide you can walk out to the arch across rock pools.
On a nippy day in January, water temperature 10*C we headed to the national trust car park and headed to the beach. While the kids played we took it in turns to swim.
First I swam out to the Arch and through it, heading back to the beach is about a 450m swim in total. I detoured on the way back and enjoyed diving down to see the wildlife and swim amongst the rocks, totaling 750m.
Ivan donned just his speedos and headed out on a smaller swim to an uncovered rock and back to shore!
10/10 - highly reccomended
