Sample Weekend Schedule

Friday: Arrive late afternoon and check into accommodation, meet and make a plan for the weekend with up to date surf and weather forecasts. Then the group can chose a take away meal, cook at the accommodation or local pub/restaurant.

Saturday: After breakfast, meet and enjoy a long morning swimming adventure, a coastal walk enjoying swims at secluded beaches along the way. The afternoon will include a tidal and swim planning theory lesson, before a late afternoon dip on one of our favorite beaches, you have the option of staying on for a beach BBQ or chips on the beach!

Sunday: In the morning a classic South West Swim like Bantham Swoosh, or Thurlestone Arch. In the PM we will have a look at some useful safety kit and advice, and then enjoy one last dip maybe on Dartmoor. Enjoy a local pub or some chips on the beach. 

Monday: Check out in the morning and head home, or stay in the area, we are happy to provide you with some extra swim spots to go and check out yourself before you head home.

Please note your guides are with you from meeting in the morning, until swimming is finished and do not normally join you for dinner plans.

These weekends are taken at a more leisurely pace, and this weekend is aimed at people who are starting their jounrey into open water swimming. We will be taking it very slowly and this is suitable for all stroke types. You  do not need to have any experience swimming outdoors, but you do need to be happy swimming for around 500m, or 15 minutes. If you'd rather enjoy a retreat with more swimming check out our September retreat aimed at more confident swimmers.

 

The aim is for at least 2 swims a day with 2x theory /knowledge sessions and lots of time to explore and relax too. On each day we will cover a small theory session, one on kit and safety while swimminng, and one on tides, weather and planning a trip.

Join us for a weekend of adventure, exploration and yoga.

These weekends are taken at a leisurely pace, but this weekend is aimed at people who are already fairly confident swimming in open water. Although we will be taking it slowly and this is suitable for all stroke types, we will be aiming to swim at least 1.5km in each swim, so minimum of 3km per day . If you'd rather enjoy a retreat with less swimming check out our August retreat aimed at covering less distance, and building confidence

 

The aim is for at least 2 swims a day with lots of time to explore and relax too. On each day there is a chance to cover a small theory session on topic like tide, first aid, water hazards, jellyfish, currents.

Join us for a weekend long retreat in North Wales. Please note this is a women's only retreat, if you are interested in a men only retreat, please get in touch :) 

A whole weekend of walking in the mountains and enjoying remote, secluded mountainous dips, based from Llanberis. The weekend is spent amongst other women who enjoy being outdoors. This trip is led by a qualified mountain leader with years of experience walking in the North Welsh Mountains, who is also a qualified Open Water Coach and Water Safety Rescue (see Kate's profile on About Us), so you're in good hands. The pace of the trip will be slow and relaxing, but you need to have a good fitness level, and be happy hiking for several hours both days. 

We have an option of 2 room types, a room to yourself, or you will sharing in rooms of up to 3 solo ladies. You need to be happy sharing with potential strangers, the rooms are 3 single beds in one bedroom. 


The weekend includes

All swims and safety cover and mountain walks

Theory lessons

Snacks post swim

We can include transport from Devon to Wales (and back again) for up to 5 people and their kit for an additional £30pp - pick up from Ivybridge, Exeter, or along the A38.

Not included:

Snacks, meals out, extras like ice cream/coffee etc
Hot drinks after swims - personal thermos highly 
recommended

Tow floats/personal swim equipment and hiking equipment

Personal /Holiday Insurance
Food - the aim is to all bring breakfast with you, we stop for lunch at the local Spar, and we either eat out at the pub/take away, or we all pitch in a few ££ and cook a 'family style' dinner

 

Itinerary:
Friday - arrive in Llanberris from 4pm - meet and greet and a quick dip in the local Llyn Padarn. 

Saturday - our Mountain day, walking up the Watkins path and enjoying the waterfall dip before passing over the ridgeline to swim under Snowdon

Sunday - a more relaxed walking to a lake dip, up the Devils Cauldron to a 2nd swim, and possibly even a 3rd swim

Monday - you're free to head home, maybe one more local dip under Moel Siabod on the way back East!
